The Walk for Education
The Amarillo Education Foundation conducts two major fundraisers each year: the Walk for Education and the Sunrise Breakfast.
The Walk for Education is held each spring on the campuses of each participating school. Walks are planned around themes of the schools’ choosing. Students, teachers, administrators, parents, grandparents, friends, and neighbors participate in the fun. Students participating in the Walks collect pledges, receive a t-shirt, and take pride in knowing that 25% of the funds raised go directly back to their campus. The money raised supports teacher grants and other projects sponsored by the Foundation for the benefit of AISD students.
